3 March 2026
Madrid and Berlin, March 3, 2026 – Velto Renewables today announces the completion of its acquisition of the Haut Chemin 2 Wind Farm from Q ENERGY, becoming the sole owner of the 26.2 MW Wind Farm in Biesles, Haute-Marne, France.
The Haut Chemin 2 Wind Farm consists of seven Vestas V136-4.0 MW turbines, each installed on a 117-meter hub height with a 185-meter total height. The project has a total installed capacity of 26.2 MW and includes three delivery substations. It generates an average of 67.1 GWh per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 14,000 households, and contributes significantly to reducing carbon emissions in the region.
This is a key milestone for Velto, as it adds the company’s first onshore wind asset to its portfolio, and reinforces Velto Renewables’ expansion in France, reflecting its long – term commitment delivering renewable energy solutions that generate lasting value for communities and contribute to the energy transition.
The Haut Chemin 2 project is part of a broader partnership framework between Velto Renewables and Q ENERGY, facilitating continued collaboration and potential future project transfers.
Lucas de Haro, CEO of Velto said: “The acquisition of Haut Chemin 2 is a significant milestone for Velto as a pan-European IPP as our first onshore wind farm is now operational and 100% owned by the company. It is an honour for us that this breakthrough happens in France, a country that has further reinforced its commitment to achieve the energy transition with the recent publication of the Multi-Year Energy Programme (PPE3), and where we are ready to consolidate our growth strategy.”
