Velto Renewables is a long-term investor, investment manager and owner of renewable energy projects. Founded in 2020, the company is a subsidiary of CDPQ, a global investment group.
Velto Renewables is committed to the decarbonization of the global economy, to which it contributes by investing and developing an international, multi-technology portfolio of renewable energy projects. We currently own 216 operational MW of solar photovoltaic projects distributed in Spain and are working to grow our portfolio and become a local player in the countries and regions where we invest.

Lucas de Haro
CEO
Lucas de Haro is CEO of Velto. He leads, the execution of the company’s overall strategy and oversees its daily management. He stepped into the role at the beginning of 2021 upon the creation of Velto. Since the early 2000s, he has devoted his career to the renewable energy, engineering and infrastructure sectors, with a strong international emphasis. Mr. de Haro holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts. He also holds the PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute.
Álvaro Gispert Rubio
CFO
Álvaro Gispert Rubio is CFO of Velto, leading the financial activities of the company. He accrues a strong background in structured finance, investment analysis and treasury management in the industrial and energy sectors, having worked for companies such as Statkraft, Enerfin, and OHL Industrial. He holds a master in Finance from IE Business School and a degree in Business Administration from CUNEF.
Pablo Aldama
Head of Legal
Pablo Aldama serves as the Head of Legal leading the legal activities of the Velto group of companies
With a distinguished career in the financial and energy sectors, he brings over a decade of specialized experience in corporate and business legal advisory.
Before joining Velto, Mr. Aldama worked as a legal counsel in financial institutions and leading companies in the renewable energy sector, both in listed and non-listed entities, such as Banco Santander, Solarpack and Gransolar ; as well as at the international law firm CMS.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Diploma in International Relations from the Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE) in Madrid, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Administration from the same university.
Miguel Zaldivar
Head of Development
Miguel Zaldivar leads the overall project development activities at Velto covering the whole maturity process since early stages up to construction.
He accrues significant international experience in corporate management, business development, project finance, M&A, and sustainable infrastructure investment, having developed his career in different regions, spanning from Spain to emerging markets, where he led the development and execution of energy projects in some of the most challenging environments. Prior to joining Velto, Miguel held key positions at AEE Power, an EPC contractor and power developer, where he served General Manager of its development and investment subsidiary. His international experience also includes working at the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX) in Ghana and acting as a board member of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in South Africa.
Mr. Zaldivar holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Oviedo and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School.
Álvaro Jiménez
Portfolio Manager
As Portfolio Manager of Velto Renewables, Álvaro Jiménez leads the daily management of Velto’s renewables assets as wellas the relationship with the related contractors and services providers.
Mr. Jiménez accrues more than 7 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master in International Business Management from the Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX).

Patrick Côté
Board Director (CDPQ)
Patrick Côté is Managing Director, Infrastructure, at CDPQ Paris. He develops new opportunities, monitors and seeks value-creation initiatives for CDPQ’s investments in the infrastructure sector in Europe. He has occupied various positions in investment at CDPQ in Paris and Montreal since 2008. In his present role he has been involved in many transactions in energy and transport’s sectors.
Before joining CDPQ, Mr. Cote worked at Ivanhoe Cambridge, the company’s real estate subsidiary. Mr. Côté holds a business degree from HEC Montreal in Canada and is a Certified Management Accountant (CPA, CMA). He has sat on the Board of Directors of South East Water, Interconnector UK, Fluxys, Keolis, London Array Limited and Velto Renewables.
Eléonore Joder
Operating Partner, Infrastructures (CDPQ)
Eléonore Joder is Operating Partner, Infrastructure, at CDPQ. Based in Paris, she works with Infrastructure teams and portfolio companies in CDPQ to improve their operational efficiency and business performance and support the growth of the portfolio.
Ms. Joder has 30 years of professional experience in industry, finance, energy and infrastructure where she had the opportunity to work with investors and infrastructure funds. She holds a master degree from ESCP (Paris), and graduated from INSEAD and IHEDN. Her last position before joining CDPQ was within Noven Group where she was deputy CEO. She has also served as director in the board of several private and public companies in the industry and energy sectors.
Andrew Parr
Board Director (Independent)
Andy Parr is a veteran of the solar industry veteran with more than 35 years of international working on both grids connected and off-grid applications. Most recently he was the Operations Director for the international projects division of Trina Solar managing the delivery of over 250MW of solar projects in Europe and Latin America and the early stage development of many more. Prior to this he headed up the European technical delivery team for United Solar Ovonics and before that held various senior roles within BP Solar including Global Product Director, Southern European Sales Director and Global Projects Manager.
Mr. Parr has a BSC hons degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Trent Polytechnic and continues within the solar industry by acting as a senior advisor.
Isabel Reija
Director (independent)
Isabel Reija is a seasoned professional in the energy industry with extensive relevant experience as an executive and entrepreneur. Her career spans more than 25 years, and started at major international energy firms and utilities such as Repsol, Unión Fenosa (now Naturgy) and Endesa. In 2010 she launched Fenie Energía, the supply company owned by electricians which became Spain’s market leader in under a decade. In 2019, she co-founded Barter with the vision of becoming the solar community of the future by developing collective shared energy solar facilities that benefit local customers, and also investing in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
Ms. Reija holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the ICAI School of Engineering of Comillas Pontifical University, and an Executive Development Diploma (PDD) from the IESE Business School. She has also studied at the London School of Economics (LSE) and completed a PhD course at UNED, the Spanish National Distance Education University. She is President of the Board of Directors of Barter, advisory board member of Fundación Renovables, and Vice-President of the board of the ICAI School of Engineering. She is also part of the non-profit organization Fundación Luz Solidaria, where she mentors women in executive positions.
